Life is Movement. As the saying goes, “use it or lose it.” You could even say, “move it or lose it.” We weren’t made to just sit around. We weren’t made to stare at computers all day. We were made to move.
Movement keeps our bodies healthy. In fact, the quality of our movement determines the quality of our lives. Quality movement is using your joints in all the planes of motion they were made for with good postural alignment. In other words, if our joints aren’t moving well, our body isn’t going to perform as well as it should. Did you know just one immobile joint will affect the entire body because the body will compensate for the loss of the range of motion in the immobile joint? Some joints will end up moving too much and others will end up moving too little. For example, an immobile ankle could lead to elbow pain or a shoulder injury. The possibilities are many. The best way to keep the body healthy, strong and pain free is to own the movements of your joints.
Joint mobility is just as important for an athlete as it is for a grandparent. What if you are capable of throwing a 90 mph fastball, but the range of motion in your shoulder will not allow you to because your hip isn’t moving well? What if you often walk around in pain because you are unknowingly compensating for a lack of proper joint mobility? What if you could lose weight or build muscle because you learned how to move?

Tim and I have been working together for a couple of months. During this time my range of motion has improved dramatically. The changes being made with his training are improving my quality of life on the whole as well as my bike riding. When I am participating in an activity I hear Tim's voice in my head.
